9th piece of the Ergo Sum series.
Pictorial series about the elements and components that constitute consciousness, how the individual constructs his self-perception through experience and reflection after contact with different planes of reality and dialogue with other minds in the vital development that calibrate discernment, will and its becoming.
It forges exclusive features of our personality that build the architecture of the SELF and trace the subjective horizon of existence, inner monologue of consciousness and its objects, of the ego with the reflective fragments of its space – time where the thin line between external intervention and internal initiative that make up the illusory mosaic and the allusive plot of a self-portrait of the spirit that gives us the signifiers that give us identity is palpable.
To be embedded by languages, values and schemes that precede it and to which it conforms its primary subjective constitution, an apparatus to which it attaches its particular perspective in the march of its vital experience and the enrichment of its interiority in response to the phenomena with which consciousness establishes contact and give it the raw material from which to forge the tone of its criterion.
It is by its title an allusion to Descartes, but omits the “cogito” putting of emphasis that thought, as logic and reason, do not have an exclusive role in the constant metamorphosis of the ego and do not cover the totality of our condition as intelligent beings aware of our temporality, but share and intersperse their direction to feeling, with appetites and desires that are manifested in the mixed configuration of the internal forum where the devices that absorb and interpret the multifaceted phenomena of operational reality are installed, in such a way that mentally we are a heterogeneous scaffolding crystallized in the representations of will and desire, depositories and contributors of discourses, perspectives, stories, correlates and schemes in everyday life and intimacy in relation to the other existences that feed us.
