Yasmin Bussiere
Yasmin Bussiere is a mixed media artist. Rich metallic textures are her signature,
reflecting on emotions and life experiences from living and working in several
countries. She has a background in interior design and worked in several sectors
before returning to the U.S. after many years abroad to pursue art. She won
several awards in international juried shows and her solo show “Eastern Light” in
2021 at The Art League Gallery, Torpedo Factory was featured in an article in the
Washington Post. Yasmin’s driving force is to take personal life experiences and
stories told by family, friends, and strangers. Stories that have shaped lives but
have been kept secret in people’s hearts. By painting from their emotional
retelling and her own reactions she hopes to create and release the trauma and
sadness of human lives and translate them into abstract works. She also
endeavors to combine them with inspirations from cultures dated centuries ago.
