Robert Houston
Robert Houston is an American artist living and working in Placitas, New Mexico. Robert’s work is focused on beauty. He strives to find and express beauty in the mundane through composition and color. This feels particularly important in a modern world where ugliness appears to be pervasive.
Robert began working in Egg Tempera eight years ago in response to his wife’s sensitivity to the fumes from oil paint. It was a fortuitous change as this historic media married perfectly with Robert’s painterly style in the mode of Nabis and Fauve artists such as Vuillard and Soutine.
