Nicole Bousquet
“It is by the color that I want to deliver the space by inscribing the freedom of my inspiration. That’s why I chose the mosaic to transfigure reality. By breaking it all up, I forget the laws of gravity. I create my own earthly attraction so that only lightness survives.
My paintings are placed in a void, visible by the “”filling”” of cases white in color. It’s not for me to think about painting as a representation of a beautiful thing or of a beautiful representation of a thing, but to propose a representation, which brings me elsewhere… to the meeting of reality as I imagine it and not as I see it. Yet painting is only an illusion. We escape from reality for a better return. Because that’s what makes it real.”
