Born in Puerto Rico, Lizzy B. Javier discovered her love of painting at an early age. She pursued her artistic endeavors by studying with a local artist, acclaimed painter, Bart Mayol, who studied at the Corcoran in Washington, D.C. After moving to continental U.S.A., Lizzy continued to take classes at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, to refine her painting, finding inspiration in nature, travel, and life in general.
Lizzy took a break from art to work as a Physical Therapist until 2011, when finally, she was able to return to painting.
Her artwork is focused on bold colors, pattern, depth, dimension, and striking imagery. Throughout the years, Lizzy has utilized different mediums to express her painting style.
“To me, paintings are portals, filled with ideas and emotions”, says Lizzy, explaining her artistic philosophy. “Paint to please yourself. Get messy. Use your imagination and give yourself the freedom of self-expression without fear of judgment.”
Recently, Lizzy has shown her artwork at Franklin Arts Center in Purceville, VA. and has been featured in the Loudoun Arts website, Artist Spotlight.
Currently, she is exhibiting a series of her paintings entitle “Shades of Italy” at the Franklin Arts Center in Purceville, VA.
