“I create bold and dynamic abstract works that try to defy and push the confinement of composition. I am always seeking to create something very different. I use digital media as a means to create artwork, then I take those images and create huge oil paintings based on them. I work figuratively and also with abstract expressionism, drawing on influences as diverse as street graffiti, spoken word poetry, sci-fi aesthetics, progressive rock and modernist architecture. I am also a musician and poet. Those disciplines inform and push my work within painting. I approach everything with a very free-form, rule-breaking attitude. I have traveled the world extensively and this I hope, fuels and flows through my work. I live in rural Cumbria, in the North of England.”
