Chris Clark
Chris Clark studied printmaking at the University of Dallas where she focused on collagraphy.
She has spent the last two decades working in various mediums including photography and painting.
The artist draws inspiration from her love of pattern in crafts such as knitting and Ukrainian pysanky as well as influences from artists such as Renoir, Monet and Cassatt.
Her most recent paintings are impressionistic depictions of figures set transparently over and amongst various repeating patterns. The patterns and figures segue between highly regular and stylized, to more organic and natural. Ms. Clark’s work touches on themes of beauty, craft vs. fine art, memory, and emotion all while striving to create an immersive experience of color, texture, and composition.
