Adrienne Barta
“Adrienne Barta is a working artist, independently represented. She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her studio is currently based in Charlottesville, VA, yet she has lived and worked all over the United States and abroad. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally, included in numerous private collections, as well as permanently installed business offices.
Adrienne Barta has also been commissioned for portraits, as well as work to decorate offices and domestic residences. Some of her recent artwork has been dedicated to the theme of appraisal. Spanning all media, shredded appraisal reports have become the backdrop for painting surfaces, textural additions on 3-dimensional combines, as well as collage elements on drawings.
Adrienne’s current series ‘Primachroma’ is based upon color theory. She has studied under a student of Josef Albers, author of Interaction of Color, and a prominent figure in the Bauhaus School. She is also influenced by such artists as Howard Hodgkin and David Hockney. ”
